About Your Daily Victoria

Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom was diarist from a young age until just before her death at 81 in 1901.  She was also an extremely prolific letter writer, with numerous volumes still in existence of her correspondence to each of her nine children, other relatives, and friends.  This has given the world a rather clear picture of a complex woman with whom grief was almost always a central state of mind.

Your Daily Victoria presents a letter or journal entry from each corresponding day of the year to present and discuss the writer’s state of mind and opinions on that very day.  In particular, Victoria’s relations with her nine offspring are of prime consideration, as well as how Victoria’s methods of parenting of her adult children compare with those of today.  Biographies of Victoria's close family members are also occasionally included.

  3. Daily Victoria - we miss you. We don't comment daily, but need a Vicki fix. Please. The previous posts have been marvelous, BUT - a tiny daily extract is better than none at all. Sigh.......
